About Dr. R. Neff

Dr. R. Neff is a specialist psychiatrist with more than a decade of dedicated experience in mental healthcare. Dr. Neff consults from Broad Road Medical Center, Wynberg and admits patients to Summit Clinic Wynberg.

Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, he completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at Stellenbosch University’s Tygerberg Hospital in 2012 before returning to the Eastern Cape to complete his internship and community service.

His commitment to psychiatry was firmly established in 2015 while working in the Psychiatric Unit at Dora Nginza Hospital. During this time, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health, further strengthening his clinical foundation and deepening his passion for compassionate, evidence‑based mental health care.

From 2016 to 2020, Dr. Neff trained as a psychiatry registrar within the Eastern Cape, primarily based at Dora Nginza Hospital. His specialist training included additional rotations at Livingstone Hospital, Port Elizabeth Provincial Hospital, Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, and Fort England Hospital in Grahamstown. He completed both the Fellowship of the College of Psychiatrists and the Master of Medicine in Psychiatry in 2020.

Since qualifying as a specialist, Dr. Neff has provided psychiatric services across both public and private healthcare settings. He remains committed to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care with professionalism, empathy, and a deep respect for the individuals and families he serves.
