The following check list will help you to ensure that you are all packed and ready for your three weeks of healing transformation:
• Identity card
• Medical aid card
• Copy of main member identity card, if you are not the main member
• All medication you currently taking in their original packaging (this includes your psychiatric and chronic medication)
• Casual clothes (please make sure your clothes are comfortable and appropriate - we do not walk around in pajama's)
• Please note that when using the gym room for exercise purposes, please wear appropriate gym clothing
• A laundry service is available on the ground floor but any and all charges for laundry would be for your account
• Toiletries
• R50 for a padlock for your cupboard
• Remember your phone charger and a plug/adapter for your charger and earphones.
• You can bring along reading material if you like or anything you like doing to keep you busy during your free time
• Please leave all valuables at home
• Please leave all sharp objects at home (no scissors, pocket knives or nail clippers are allowed)
• Kindly note that Summit Clinic does not provide parking for your car. Please make arrangements to be dropped off at the clinic.
• We do have specific diets available upon request, i.e.: Diabetic/Veg and we are strictly Halaal.
• Please note that we have a very strict policy against any alcohol or illicit drugs being brought onto or used on our premises and during your stay. Being in possession or using any form of substance during your admission may lead to your discharge.
• Note that all bags and parcels brought on premises by you or visitors may be searched on arrival. Should any objects or items not deemed acceptable, Summit Clinic can and may refuse the right to admission and entry to the clinic.

The Summit Clinic Program is 21 days. Most medical aids will pay for this.
You could stay for longer or shorter periods depending on your needs.
Fees are charged strictly in accordance with medical aid rates and tariffs. Summit Clinic is ‘contracted in’ with most medical aids meaning that we will submit the bill to the medical aid on your behalf for payment to us. We also request your hospital authorization on your behalf. This is a free service, and no admin fee is charged.
For private patients NOT on medical aid, the fees can be negotiated with the Summit Clinic Accounts Administrator. You can request a quote prior to admission.
All Specialists at Summit Clinic bill for their consultations and services independently and do not form part of the Summit Clinic bill. We have, however, ensured that all professional charges remain strictly within the medical aid tariffs. Private patients may negotiate their bill with each service provider separately.
Due to the carefully planned daily program visiting hours in the week are from 6pm – 8pm.
On Weekends the followings times apply:
11am to 12pm
3pm to 5pm
6pm to 8pm
For patients who require alternate visiting hours, this can be negotiated and arranged with the nursing staff on duty, or the therapist.
Patients are allowed to restrict who they would like to see. Children are welcome should the patient desire it. Note that only one (1) visitor is permitted per patient at a time inside the facility.
Summit Clinic is licensed by the Department of Health and is registered with:
Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF)
National Hospital Network (NHN)
Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA)
Department of Social Development.
A suitable follow up program will be discussed with your Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologist
Summit Clinic does provide a lockable safe for patient valuables; however, you are encouraged NOT to bring large sums of money and expensive jewellery. Electronic devices are brought at the patient's own risk and should be kept locked in the patient’s locker.
You must bring R50 in cash to pay for the deposit for the locker key which will be refunded to you on your discharge and return of the key.
There is a cafeteria on the ground floor where you may purchase items.
Yes, Summit Clinic does provide a complimentary guest Wi-Fi. Note that due to security concerns, all Wi-Fi activity is monitored to protect the Summit Clinic IT network from malicious attack. No personal data is recorded, but usage stats are available for review. The free Wi-Fi is offered as a best effort service, however, the service is not guaranteed under circumstances beyond the control of Summit Clinic, nor it’s 3rd party services providers.
